A real British-made clay tandoor in a stainless drum, reaching the 400°C the technique needs for naan on the wall and skewers down the middle.
A budget clay-lined tandoor drum, a cheaper way into the technique if you accept rougher finishing and a shorter life.

A tandoor is a clay-lined cylinder with charcoal in the base, running at 400°C or higher. Naan is slapped directly onto the inside wall and cooks in a minute; marinated meat goes on long vertical skewers so it cooks in radiant heat while the drippings hit the coals.
It is a specialist purchase with a real learning curve, and the clay needs seasoning and protecting from frost. For anyone who cooks a lot of Indian food it does something no other cooker does.
