How to choose
Dual fuel barbecues run a gas burner section and a charcoal section side by side, so you can sear sausages on gas for the children and run a proper charcoal fire for the brisket at the same time.
Be realistic about the compromise. A dual fuel unit is usually not as good at charcoal as a dedicated kettle costing a third as much, because the charcoal side is shallow and the lid rarely seals well enough for low and slow work.
