How to choose

Korean table barbecue is a social format rather than a technical one: a domed or slotted plate set into the middle of the table, thin cuts of marinated meat, and everyone cooking their own. The dome shape is deliberate, draining fat to a moat around the edge so it does not pool and burn.

Indoor units are either electric or use a small charcoal well with a built-in extractor. Ventilation is the thing to get right, and it is the reason genuine charcoal indoor grills are rare and expensive. For a tabletop charcoal version outdoors, a konro does the same job with better heat.
