The kamado that built the category. Performance is close to a Kamado Joe; the difference is that the Egg's accessories, dealers and secondhand market are everywhere.

Performance

Functionally this does what any thick ceramic cooker does: enormous heat retention, tiny fuel use, a genuine 105°C (225°F) to 400°C (750°F) range. The Large is the size most people should buy, taking a whole spatchcocked turkey or roughly six burgers plus room to move them.

The trade against Kamado Joe

The Egg ships as a bare cooker. A nest, a table or shelves, and the convEGGtor heat deflector for indirect cooking are all extra, and the convEGGtor is not optional if you want to smoke. Budget for those. In return you get a lifetime ceramic warranty, a dealer network that actually stocks parts, and gaskets and hardware you can still buy for a cooker bought twenty years ago.
