Fire Pits

Fire bowls, fire tables and pits, for the evening after the cooking is done.

What to know before you buy

A fire pit is not a cooking device first, it is the reason people stay in the garden after the food is finished. Most of the good ones will take a cooking attachment, which makes them a reasonable second purchase rather than a competing one.

The meaningful technical difference is secondary burn. Double-walled pits draw air up between the walls and re-ignite the smoke coming off the fire, producing noticeably less of it. In a small garden with close neighbours that is the difference between using it and not.

Check what the base does to whatever it stands on. Most need a stand or a heatproof mat if they are going on decking, and several will scorch a lawn permanently if they sit directly on it.
